San Martino
The firm ´San Martino s.r.l´ was born in Quartuccio ( Campidano di Cagliari ) in 1987.
The owners, Maria Antonietta, Alessandro and the two sons, Gabriele and Simone, gave the factory this name because it was born on the 11th of November, St. Martin´s day. San Martino has a wide range of high quality liqueurs, respecting the antique Sardinian recepies.
They produce the famous ´Limoncello´ made of a strict selection of Sardinian typical lemons.
But the most important productis the ´Liquore di Mirto´, the king of liqueurs in Sardinia, made of wild myrtle berries; with the green myrtle leaves, they produce the ´Liquore di Mirto Bianco´.
Maria Antonietta Piu and Alessandro Cirillo have combined passion and taste to create lovely hand-painted bottles, designed as ´Souvenirs di Sardegna´, sold all over the world.
In 2003, the factory has made an important change: after 16 years of hard work, it has inaugurated a new building that reminds you of the old Distilleries in 1900. The new structure has become a tourist place for students interested in learning the different phases of tasting and production.
