MOLO A is a white wine obtained from a meticulous selection of only Vermentino grapes from a vineyard of approximately 45 years old, located in the municipality of Badesi (SS) in northern Sardinia, in an area better known as Gallura.
The vineyard is right in front of the sea, about 200 meters in a straight line from the famous "Spiaggia Le Dune" (The Dunes Beach), with rows facing southwest. The soil consists exclusively of silica sand, poor in organic substances but rich in minerals, which gives the wine a particular aromatic complexity.
Since the vines were planted in this vineyard, no fertilizers or chemical fertilizers have ever been used. After careful monitoring of pH and sugar content, the grapes were harvested manually in plastic containers on August 23, 2022, with a yield of 54 quintals per hectare. The harvested bunches were immediately brought to the cellar using refrigerated means, and once destemmed, a soft pressing of the berries was carried out using a pneumatic press. The resulting free-run juice was then left in contact with the skins for about two hours (skin maceration).
Fermentation and subsequent vinification were carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine was left on fine lees with frequent bâtonnage for about 7 months. In March, a first clarification was done through cold settling, and subsequently bottled in April.
