General information: Nieddera is the name of an ancient species of vine, native to Sardinia. The Contini Nieddera is the result of a wise combination with other select Sardinian varieties. The mus, obtained by gentle pressing, ferments for approximately 10 days, in contact with the grape skins. Maturing takes place in part in chestnut casks of 25 hl capacity and in part in barriques made of oak from the central massif of France.
The average maturing period is approximately 10 months. While it can be drunk immediately after the initial maturing period, Nieddera improves progressively with time. A perfect wine to accompany meat, poultry, and game dishes.
