The Judu artisanal Sardinian myrtle liqueur from Montiferru is born from an ancient recipe that calls for a high percentage of berries per liter of alcohol. It is produced from wild plants growing in the myrtle groves of the Montiferru area, hand-harvested, uncultivated, and far from any source of pollution.
Color: deep red with violet reflections. The aroma is intense and evolved, aromatic with balsamic notes of undergrowth and Mediterranean scrub. Defined by its pleasant, bold, and characteristic fragrance, it is considered an excellent digestive liqueur.
Infusion: cold infusion of ripe berries in alcohol, left to macerate for about two months using rotating stainless-steel maceration tanks, then pressed and filtered without grinding, as the seeds would give the liqueur an excessively tannic flavor.
Dilution and aging: dilution is done with water from the nearby San Leonardo springs, sugar, and no added flavorings or colorings. The resulting infusion has a purplish-red color, similar to that of the berries. The process ends with a further two-month aging period in stainless-steel vats.
